I've got some skillful news for you today. ✨

Yous don't take to take special or expensive equipment to make your ain homemade baby nutrient. Promise. In fact, you've probably got most of what yous demand already.

I've outlined below everything I've used to make and store homemade babe nutrient. And I made ALL of the food for both of my kids. We never bought a jar or clasp pouch. They are big eaters, too, then I've had plenty of practise and feel and still didn't need whatsoever of those so-called infant food making machines.

Whether you lot programme to make all your own nutrient, or just desire to supplement some store-bought items with some homemade foods, y'all will be well covered with the equipment beneath.

Some of these are certainly optional, likewise. You don't need both sizes of food processors and you can use whatever containers or pocket-size bowls you already have instead of ownership baby-specific ones. However, many are helpful if you're going to stick with information technology and I wanted to include all of our favorites.

Start boring and add on, later on you see what you need and how things are working for you.

You can check out my complete list of homemade babe food resources for other ideas, tips and information on getting started. (And here'south my bootleg baby food introducing solid schedule and then you know what to innovate at what age/phase. It has a free printable too!)

Homemade baby food equipment recommendations — The basics:

  • Food processor — I have and use both a small mini food processor and a regular total size i. I use both of them a lot but y'all could certainly get by with just the bigger 1.
  • Mini food processor: It's pocket-size and handy for whipping up something quick (I brand my 5-minute, 5-ingredient hummus and other dips in hither all the time). And information technology's so easy to make clean.
  • Large food processor (11-cup): Information technology'southward useful for making big batches of infant nutrient and for larger family recipes.
  • Immersion blender (aka hand blender): This is and then fast and so easy, y'all volition utilise it all.the.fourth dimension. ❤️
  • Steamer basket: Place this in a pot with some water and steam, steam, steam away. It'south a healthier way to prepare veggies than putting them in boiling water, which leaches out a lot more than of the nutrients.

Baby food equipment — Containers and extras:

You tin certainly employ what you already happen to have on hand for most of these, but I've been happy to have the baby-specific products over the years. They are smaller, which is bang-up for holding small portions of baby food and so yous don't waste material any. (You're not supposed to save leftovers from a container that a infant has eaten from, since information technology's contaminated with their leaner and could be unsafe.)

As well, I always try to get BPA-free containers.

You'll need enough of small containers. Here's what we dearest:

  • Gerber graduates bowls with lids: Pretty basic bowls to shop and serve nutrient and they volition exist useful for years to come.
  • Green Sprouts storage cubes: These are tiny and perfect when you first start introducing foods. They too are nice to have for serving a diversity of baby foods in smaller quantities. And later, we use them for small servings of food (beans, grapes, raisins, trail mix, etc.) to send to day care and school.
  • OXO tot storage and freezer containers: These are slap-up for minor quantities of purees and afterward for snacks and small servings (cereal, sliced fruit, dips, etc.)

Water ice cube trays: You can use the ones y'all already accept in your freezer or expect for something like these Greenish Sprouts silicon freezer trays (which are also easy to clean).
