This recipe was delicious. I as well cooked it in the crockpot. I only filled it with h2o till the 2lbs of stew come across was covered, I omitted the common salt, put in 1/2 a large white onion, and the i/4 c. worscheshire and depression sodium soy sauce. It smelled great cooking day. Right before we ate it I added simply the brown gravy pack with no water and information technology thickend up quite nicely. The was a not bad repast. My hubby is request for seconds.

My whole family loved this recipe! I but dumped it all in the crockpot and it was great.
08/19/2003
The merely office that I changed about this recipe when I made it the first time was, afterward an hour and a half simmer, the gravy wasn't looking like it would be thick enough. And then at that signal I mixed 1/3 loving cup of flour with 1/2 cup of milk, shaken in an airtight container to go the lumps out. And so stir it into the pan. It made the gravy the perfect consistency for pouring over rice. You may want information technology a footling thinner with noodles, simply it won't work as the recipe describes. Doing this will too cut dorsum on the "as well salty" taste other reviewers spoke of. I didn't cut back on salt at all and it was perfect. Actually information technology was overnice non to see my husband table salt his food for once. We really honey this dish and volition eat it often! Thank you so much for posting information technology.

This recipe comes out much better if y'all throw everything in a crock pot and let it simmer all twenty-four hours. The meat is and so tender!
12/23/2007
Very, very good! My fellow did everything just lick his plate clean! I omitted the common salt and it was still bordering on too salty... adjacent time I will utilize reduced sodium soy sauce. Served it over No Yolks noodles, with flaky biscuits and Garlic Green Beans (from this site). Yum!
01/19/2011
SOOOOO tender, just don't overcook; 90 min is plenty. Easily v stars with minimal modifications! Coat beef with flour & pepper before browning, don't add together any salt. Simmer for 1 hour on low/med, so add together gravy packet & 2 tbsp corn starch. Simmer additional 30 min, remove from oestrus. Served over instant mashed potatoes, only egg noodles would be great, too! THIS WAS Then Easy! Too easy to taste this proficient! It was a hitting with my beau & he's hard to impress. THIS IS GREAT THE NEXT Twenty-four hours, As well!
01/11/2011
I have been on All recipes.com for several months at present and take made my family of v recipes from this site almost every night, but this ane was the first i I am writing a review on...It was that practiced! I didn't change a thing. Everyone loved information technology! I believe the reason the recipe calls for the meat to melt for two hours is to tenderize it. You can buy inexpensive bottom circular stew meat (rather than acme circular) and by cooking it for several hours, the meat definitely is alot more tender than if it had cooked for a shorter menstruum. I served it over egg noodles and added some infant peas. The meat was so tender it melted in our mouths! This is 1 recipe I will make again and again.
01/02/2011
Adept base of operations recipe, just mode too salty. I floured the stew meat earlier browning, I used 2 cloves of fresh garlic instead of pulverisation, low sodium beefiness broth instead of h2o, one-half of the low sodium soy sauce, and no h2o with the gravy packet (possibly that's why it was so salty?). The sauce was nice and thick. Next time I will add in fresh mushrooms, maybe 1/ii cup of ruby wine - and I will leave out the soy sauce birthday. I don't really intendance for the gustatory modality of it anyway.
12/09/2009
I just tried this today, and benefited from comments of several others. Thanks! I added 2 garlic cloves (pressed) to the onion to brown, and used only 1/2 and onion. I really used sirloin steak and cut it into bite sized pieces. I tossed the in flour earlier browning. After browning I added the ii c. water, plus 1/4 crimson wine. Used only ii Tbs. each of Worchestershire and depression sodium soy sauce and one/2 Tbs. of brown gravy pulverisation. After it all simmered awhile I added 1 c. of beef broth and sprinkled a little pepper in it. I but simmered it for an 60 minutes all together. It was extremely tender, not salty, very flavorful and we all loved information technology! This [altered] recipe will be a keeper!
09/twenty/2007
This was pretty adept.I omitted the common salt and used low sodium soy sauce and a parcel of low sodium brown gravy mix. Information technology was but correct not salty at all.
09/25/2011
What a nifty and like shooting fish in a barrel reciepe!!! I left the salt out no demand for it. I used i cup of beef broth and 1 cup of water instead of two cups of water. I as well added 1 tin can of foam of mushroom soup totally made the gravy and so delicious!!!!
02/13/2002
This is a great recipe for a chilly evening - very comforting & hearty. We ate it over mashed potatoes, and information technology was gone in a flash. Smells peachy while it'due south cooking, also!
02/21/2008
Contrary to many negative reviews of this recipe, it was actually expert. I fabricated this terminal nighttime for my married woman, daughter and her two kids and they enjoyed information technology. I consider my married woman an expert at cooking and she gave it rave reviews. Based on other suggestions I did eliminate the salt and used beef broth instead of 2 cups of water and cut the soy sauce and worchestershire in half and I did need to thicken it up at the end. I served it with veggies and mashed potatoes and information technology turned out GREAT! I usually give my married woman a suspension and cook twice a week and this recipe is definitely in my rotation. Thanks for a tasty recipe. :)
05/22/2005
I used low sodium soy sauce and had no trouble with the salt also just added 1/ii cup COOL h2o at the stop with the gravy mix. This is important if you lot want it to thicken nicely. Besides added some mushrooms and cooked it in the crockpot after pan searing the meat. Excellent dish. Thanks.
01/22/2012
This is a not bad crock pot recipe! I tweaked it but a lilliputian(did non need the oil because I used my crock pot). This cooked for about ii to 3 hours and the olfactory property was wonderful. I used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder, I wanted a thicker gravy so almost twenty minutes before I served it I took most a cup of the liquid from the pot and stirred in almost 2 tablespoons of Argo corn starch until lumps were gone. Then poured the mixture back into the pot. This thickened the broth into a fantastic gravy which was perfect on white rice. I promise you this is succulent! Served with french bread and a tossed salad. This one is definitely a keeper and I will make information technology again.
05/01/2011
My family loved this. My 6 yr old son had THIRDS and ate all of his veggies to get a second helping. I added some sliced mushrooms and replaced the garlic powder with minced garlic. I cooked this for i.5 hours and the meat was perfectly tender. My husband makes homemade egg noodles, so we added those at the end. I did not add the salt based on other reviews and thought that the level of table salt was perfect. No need to add, but not overly salty, either. Because we added the noodles to the dish, we did add the full ane cup of h2o with the gravy mix and the thickness of the gravy was perfect. The noodles soaked up some of the liquid and the flour thickened the gravy without needing to add together any additional corn starch or flour. I'm pretty certain there will be a wildcat at my firm if I do NOT make this again!
07/25/2002
My family and I loved this dish! I cooked information technology in my crockpot, it was and so easy! I followed another reviewers notes, covered meat with water, cooked it iv hours. I added 2 dashes of hot sauce and i tbl. Italian seasoning. I added gravey mix (no extra h2o) about twenty mins earlier serving. This is diffently a KEEPER.
12/21/2011
A good base recipe. I modified this quite a chip. I sauteed an onion with 2 cloves fresh chopped garlic. Then dusted beef with flour and browned. Added 1/iv cup of scarlet wine. Added 2 cups of water, 2 cloves smashed garlic, 5 or vi splashes of worcestershire, three splashes of low sodium soy, 1/2 Knorrs homestyle beefiness stock, Lots of fresh cracked pepper, some dried thyme, 2 bay leaves, dried rosemary, reduced heat and simmered for 1 hour. Then added diced light-green pepper, and a touch of salt. Simmered xxx min. Served with white rice. Fantastic.
09/06/2011
I threw it all in the crock pot except the onions and the cup of water that went with the gravy. Cooked it for six hours. I did have to thicken it up with some cornstarch and water. Served over mashed potatoes. Super adept!
eleven/27/2009
This was really adept. I threw everything in the crockpot with the exception of the oil, salt and last cup of h2o. I waited until about 30minutes before dinner and threw the brown gravy package in with a tiny bit of flour. It thickened upwards very nice. It cooked for around 10-xi hours and wasn't salty at all. We served it over mashed taters and the married man and I were fighting for the leftovers. I call up it would be a great kickoff to a shepards pie!! Thanks for the recipe
02/08/2011
I fabricated this for dinner yesterday and information technology got rave reviews. I added mushrooms, used fresh garlic (I never use powder, matter of principle) and left out the added table salt. Delicious! Thanks Denisef
10/28/2002
This recipe is five stars, afterward a little modification. Offset, I don't even add the salt and I use low sodium soy sauce. The first time I made information technology, information technology was then salty it made our lips pucker! But, after I fabricated it with way less table salt it was fabulous and the beef was then tender. I either serve with egg noodles or garlic mashed potatoes. Thanks, for a peachy, piece of cake meal!
04/01/2012
I didn't add the additional salt and this was still salty. Next time I will use low sodium soy and worcestershire. Besides that information technology had a smashing flavor and was really like shooting fish in a barrel to brand. I will give this another go.
08/21/2011
I fabricated this this evening and it'south a it. I had to catechumen it to gluten free in order to eat information technology. Here's what I did: eliminated the packet of gravy mix as it's not gf. Tossed the beef with gluten free flour seasoned with garlic pepper. Besides used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. I served information technology with some gluten free pasta and it'due south absolutely delicioius!
11/25/2012
Awesome recipe. I throw all of the ingredients in the crockpot and cook information technology for the day. Then I milk shake some milk and flour in a basin with a lid and add information technology at the cease to thicken information technology. No need to brown the meat either. Just throw everything in the crockpot ready it and forget information technology!!
01/16/2006
I've made this recipe several times at present, tweaking it along the way. The first time I had the same trouble equally other reviewers, information technology was wayyy too salty, I almost couldn't swallow it. Now when I make information technology I decrease the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce a bit, and leave out the 1 tsp salt. The dish still has great flavor but isn't pucker your lips salty.
07/twenty/2012
Overall skilful recipe but it did turn out quite salty! Next fourth dimension I won't add every bit much common salt..cutting it back to maybe one/ii of what is called for here. Otherwise, the flavor was expert and the meat was very tender. Trying information technology again tonight w/ less common salt!
06/21/2011
Very tasty. I cut the soy sauce in half, added fresh mushrooms and substituted fresh garlic for garlic powder (personal preference). Definitely let the beef simmer as recipe states so it will be tender. This recipe is often requested in my house. Delicious!
xi/30/2010
My hubby loves beefiness tips over egg noodles so I thought I would endeavor this. I used reduced sodium soy sauce and brownish gravy mix. It was very adept but I will get out the salt out side by side time and melt it but an hour. Going to make a batch to keep some available in the freezer. Thanks!
05/25/2011
My husband liked this a lot. It went well over mashed potatos, but would become well with rice or noodles. I changed a couple things merely for my personal sense of taste. I added mushrooms and used existent garlic and I didn't apply as much onion because my hubby is non a huge fan of them. I besides didn't apply as much h2o because I like my gravy thicker. I will brand this again!
01/21/2012
This was skilful but I retrieve adjacent fourth dimension I volition used perhaps a tad less Worcestershire...only a personal preference.
01/30/2011
This was beyond skilful!! It was salty, but nosotros ate it anyway, had information technology with garlic crescent rolls, and used them to clean our plates. Mine was overnice and thick later calculation the gravy packet, I did non add whatever extra water to it. Definitely a keeper!
02/06/2012
This was pretty good. I omitted the salt and used low sodium soy sauce. I put everything in the crock pot and cooked on low for eight hours. If I use the crock pot once more I volition definitely reduce the corporeality of water/liquid significantly. Thank you for sharing this recipe, denisef!
01/02/2012
I cooked only as the recipe specified and it wasn't too salty. I usually dont add much common salt simply this time I did and I'thousand glad! It was DELICIOUS! My husband loved it too. I cooked with rice and steamed carrots. I did double the gravy amount because we love some gravy!!
01/22/2011
Simple and delish! I added a splash of ruby-red wine to add zing and some gravy master.
01/12/2012
Some of the most flavorful and tender meat we have eaten in a long time. I followed the directions and served this over egg noodles. This was a popular dinner....no leftovers. This would be just as first-class over rice or mashed potatoes.
08/01/2005
first off, dont use water and gravy mix; use beef stock. secondly, once seared, you lot dont demand to cook it for that long. in one case you lot've added the liquid, cook it for about 15 minutes, covered. brand a paste using equal parts of cornstarch and cold water; add together a little of this at a fourth dimension to the beef and stir, until desired thickness. if it'south too thin, add more than of the cornstarch paste till desired thickness, bring to a boil. i also added a pinch of cayenne, fresh garlic instead of garlic pulverisation, and ane bay leaf. serve over rice. the basic recipe is good, information technology just needs touching up.
02/12/2011
It was a bit salty.
04/29/2012
I've fabricated this recipe several times for my family unit and it'southward been a hit every time. I haven't altered the recipe one whit and it comes out perfect. Although I volition say, I do withhold the tsp of salt until the end, because some gravy mixes are saltier than others. I practise like to add mushrooms to it, fresh if I've got them, canned if I don't. I don't have a trouble with the melt time of two hours, since it really seems to make the beefiness become fork tender. This recipe makes enough for a family of four, with leftovers when combined with egg noodles.
ten/17/2010
Way to salty. The showtime time I made information technology, it was fine and the second was too salty. However, both times it did not need to melt for 2 hours.
01/11/2011
Added less h2o, a tsp. of cornstarch to thicken, and ane/two loving cup of sour cream right earlier it was served, per someone'due south suggestion. Tasty!
07/eighteen/2003
Came out bully! I heeded the communication of others and cut out the additional common salt, and I ever utilise low-sodium soy sauce anyway. I have establish the key to the best flavour is to simmer it at a higher temperature (I set it between depression and medium,) keeping it lightly boiling. The meat becomes delightfully tender and the sauce reduces to a rich and slightly spicy perfection. Also I let it go on to simmer for nearly 20-30 minutes after I add the gravy mix, before bringing it up to a rolling eddy so it tin thicken. Hope this helps somebody! We Dearest this recipe!
11/15/2002
First of all, I made ii changes to this recipe. I omitted the onion and used a roast cut into big chunks. I thought that this was a pretty good dinner. The gravy was the perfect thinkness. As long equally you reduce the liquid properly before adding the additional h2o/gravy mix, you volition get a good result. I did not find this dish too salty, but my husband did. A actually good flim-flam for getting rid of an overly salty taste it to add a cutting potato (I used half of a potato cut into two pieces) to the pot. The irish potato will blot a lot of the salty flavor and not change the overall taste of the dish. I would make this once more using a low sodium soy sauce. Like I said, even though I was able to cut the saltiness past using the potato trick, my husband notwithstanding institute it a chip salty. Overall, this was a good dish that was very easy to set.
05/18/2008
I've made this recipe many, many times and it's ever a huge hit. I exercise different variations...sometimes with sliced mushrooms, sometimes with red wine, sometimes thickened into a gravy. I've always served over noodles but tried rice final time and love that too. The leftovers are splendid. I've also fabricated a double batch and frozen it with good results.
12/10/2007
I laughed when I read these reviews because my husband also LOVED this recipe. I thought it was pretty darn good myself just throughout our meal my husband wouldn't stop raving about how skilful it was and how he would like this once a calendar week. I guess beef tips are the way to a man'due south heart! On some other note, I did throw a splash of red wine into the mix therefore having to add a trivial extra brown gravy mix equally the one package was just a tad bit runny (totally my doing!)Overall, YUMMY and well-nigh important EASY! Thank you for the fabled recipe!
08/12/2010
This was an okay meal. I served it over rice, every bit I have washed in the past. I used depression sodium gravy mix and depression sodium soy sauce (plus I left out the salt) and I yet felt similar it was pretty salty. Simply it was edible and my husband really enjoyed it. He loves Worcestershire sauce and I am not a big fan of information technology, so I remember that is where my sense of taste buds let me down. As for the texture and simplicity, 4 star. I put the whole 1/4 cup Worcestershire and next fourth dimension, I will utilise half of that.
03/08/2007
Piece of cake, and very good. We love neat recipes with simply a few ingredients!! I threw in ane cup of merlot and 1 cup h2o, instead of the 2 cups h2o...Kicked it up a notch!! ;) Thank you!
04/21/2012
I think it was style likewise salty.
03/08/2011
Excellent! Meat was very tender with tons of flavor. Yet, do not add the actress salt! I used crock pot.
02/04/2011
I wish I read the reviews before I made this.It was mode too salty. The flavour was really good.I'll make this again, just with no salt. The soy sauce has enough.
01/26/2006
I generally similar salty foods, so fifty-fifty though I read the warnings and decided to get out out the salt in this recipe, I still establish the salt content to be quite stiff. I volition brand this once more, simply will attempt the reduced table salt soy sauce as well. Otherwise, the meat was very tender and my married man thought it was corking regardless. Thanks.
eleven/05/2010
First-class .... gustatory modality good, but you have to be easy with the common salt. Its too salty
02/x/2011
My children LOVED this. I did think it was a bit salty, and I used a low sodium gravy mix and soy sauce and had eliminated the table salt chosen for, too. It was a good cold winter 24-hour interval meal and I would brand it again, but I will likewise await for another similar recipe that may be less salty tasting.
01/24/2011
My family loved this!! Thanks for the great recipe!
02/23/2006
I'thou giving this 5 stars because this gave me another existent easy recipe to add to my box, and it tasted great. I used one cup water and one cup beef goop, onion, fresh garlic, the soy sauce and ane/8t pepper with the meat, then thickened it with cornstarch. I cut the meat in relatively pocket-sized chunks, so information technology doesn't have that long to cook. The meat was extremely tender, and it had enough of taste. Honestly, if I had added the worchestershire, and the added salt, I don't call up nosotros would have been able to eat information technology. This was delicious over rice.
01/21/2011
Husband says "This ones a good one!". I served it over mashed potatoes.
05/03/2006
I wasn't sure when to add the brown gravy mix, in the beginning or the end...it was good though, needed more onion or something....no extra salt needed either!
06/09/2008
This is supper good!! Just.....It is salty and I didn't fifty-fifty add together the salt that was called for, since it called for so much soy sauce. I volition be making this again for sure! But with out the salt and half the soy. And I didn't have gravy mix, so I just used 2 table spoons of corn starch with beef base and some h2o in a jar. Milkshake it upwardly actually adept than merely added to you meat.
01/27/2011
The odor of this totally turned me off. my hubby said information technology was stinky merely he didn't remember it was that bad over-all. It may have tasted ok but the aroma was and then overwhelming.
11/22/2010
I cut my beef cubes existent small-scale. I added fresh mushrooms. I merely cooked information technology for 25 to 30min.
06/05/2008
This is a very good recipe which is piece of cake to change to your own tastes. At the suggestion of a few other reviews, I drugged the meat in flour before browning it to add a little girth to the sauce. I also only used one-half the soy sauce, half the Worcestershire sauce and no actress common salt. I did use the gravy packet as the thickening agent in the terminate. The meat was quite tender, and actually had a nice flavor. We ate information technology over white rice, and LOVED it. The only thing I would alter next fourth dimension is maybe add together only half the pepper, because like someone else's children, I thought information technology was a bit "spicy" for me.
01/25/2012
I thought information technology was just ok only my company thought information technology was skillful.
04/28/2011
Very tasty! I used beef strips intended for stir fry. There were no leftovers when my married man tried this!
01/11/2011
Instant family favorite! I have made this several times and it'southward e'er a large hit. We serve it over homemade mashed potatoes with hot buttered rolls. The only matter I modify is to use reduced-sodium soy sauce AND reduced-sodium Dark-brown Gravy mix. And I omit the salt called for in the recipe. Otherwise its just too salty. I do apply 2 packets of gravy with 1+1/2 c water. Turns out perfect every time.
01/03/2012
This was amazing! My male parent said it was the all-time meal I have always cooked. I followed many other users suggestions. First I sauteed portobella mushrooms with the onions. I subsituted beefiness broth for the 2 cups water and added one/4 cup reddish wine to the liquid mixture. I as well used fresh garlic rather than powedered and NO Common salt! This recipe doesn't need any salt with the amount from everything else. I cooked everything for 50 minutes so added frozen peas. I waited 10 minutes than added the gravy mixture for another thirty minutes uncovered. This is a must cook dish! Definitely will brand it again.
02/27/2012
This is one of our favorite recipes. I do change information technology up a little chip though. We employ ane/2 cup of water, and 1 cup of blood-red wine. Everything else we leave the same (but nosotros omit the onions, no one in the family unit likes them) and it comes out perfect every time. We put it over mashed potatoes and even the baby will consume information technology!
04/08/2012
Excellent recipe. Quick and easy. I did usa and tin of gold mushroom soup in place of the gravy mix. Will keep this on my become to list.
eleven/04/2012
I made this as directed . The meat was tender after 1 1/4 hrs of cooking . However , when adding the bundle of gravy and water , I cooked information technology for 10 mins . more , and it did non thicken to my liking . Had to add a slurry of cornstarch and water , and melt 10 more mins. The sauce was besides salty , and had besides much pepper . If I were to brand again , information technology would be with a lot of tweaking . Deplorable .
12/16/2005
This was great!! Had to double it 2nd time effectually!!! My husband was so very happy with this i had to brand it later this week...I volition be making this each week every bit dinner again..Thanks we dear it...
12/02/2009
Practiced recipe, easy to prepare. Do Non add any common salt until the end of the cooking procedure. Only add salt 'to taste'.
03/xx/2011
Great recipe..will be making it regularly. Hubby really enjoyed it likewise!
02/06/2005
I coated the meat in flour than added all the ingredients except for the brown gravy mix in the crock-pot cooked on low all day, I added the gravy mix and a footling cornstarch turned crockpot to high and permit it thicken while I made mashed potatoes to serve with it. The meat was very tender and even the picky eaters enjoyed it.
10/19/2010
added sliced mushrooms. served over mashed potatoes or noodles.
xi/07/2011
Very good recipe! Next time I'thou going to add some sliced mushrooms to the mix. Also, I simply simmered this for near xxx-forty minutes and information technology came out fine, just I call up the meat would've been more than tender if I had cooked it for the full 2 hours.
05/15/2004
Wow wow wow! This recipe was delicious. I was a little leary of trying this, as most beef recipes end up very tough and chewy. Not this one! I followed the recipe to the letter. I seemed to have A LOT of sauce, though. I couldn't go information technology to thicken. Adjacent time I volition omit a cup of water (or maybe fifty-fifty more). I would have rated this 5 stars if not for the thin sauce. However, it did accept a wonderful slightly-spicy gustatory modality. I added some sauteed mushrooms to my plate, and served with herbed mashed potatoes and a veggie. The meat was so very tender, I could cut it with my fork. I did notice a salty gustation also, and I would probably omit the extra salt next time likewise. I was VERY impressed with how this turned out, and information technology was and then easy! I volition definately be making it again.
03/13/2012
This dish is FANTASTIC!!! Even my picky kids loved information technology! The only change I made was cut some of the soy sauce! It was a little salty the kickoff time I made it just the second time I cut the soy sauce in half and it was perfect!
12/16/2002
This was really good. My picky husband even liked it and he hates it when I try new recipes on him. We both felt this needed a little something more than season wise and the sause could stand to have been a bit thicker, then I'g going to play around with a trivial next time I make it, but it'due south definitely a keeper. I fabricated this in my crock pot following the directions of some of the other reviewers, cut back on the soy sauce (low sodium diversity) but kept the Worcestershire sauce at recommended corporeality since dh loves the stuff.
08/xiv/2012
Everyone in my household loved this!! i only give it four stars because I would have liked it to have more of the Worcestershire taste. Other than that, information technology will get on the menu rotation!
03/24/2003
This was a delicious meal and my 4 yr erstwhile loved information technology. I did have the advice of others and did reduce the soya sauce and omitted the salt. I also used roasted garlic instead of garlic powder. The meat turned out tender and the sauce was thick and rich. A definate keeper.
12/09/2003
This was and then good. I also followed others recommendations of cooking this in the crockpot. It turned out very tender. I volition be making this oftentimes.
05/17/2006
So succulent and tender! I didn't take a trouble with as well much salt, and I cooked it for the full time! Next time I volition probably add together some mushrooms while it's simmering and serve over mashed potatoes.
12/ten/2005
I used my ho-hum cooker to simmer the meat and it turned out nicely. For all those who said it's too salty, just omit the table salt and use low-sodium soy sauce. That'southward what I did and it was perfect. Elementary, but tastes neat. Anybody likes it!
01/08/2007
The beef was well flavored and juicy, but the sauce never thickened and was bland.
01/07/2002
I read the reviews before I made this and eliminated the salt and used depression sodium soy sauce. My husband and I loved the flavour, only it was style too peppery for the kids. I'll make it again and utilise less pepper. Very piece of cake and the meat was every bit tender equally the reviews said.
09/12/2002
The Worchestershire and Soy made this Style too salty and Mode too sweet! Next fourth dimension I will only add together 1/8 cup of both sauces...and will probably add another packet of the gravy...considering I like it thicker!!! :) Only overall I liked it...
11/11/2003
Whoa!!!!!!!!!! This dish was mode also salty, and this is a salt-a-holic talking!! I judge the only way to reduce this would be to apply low sodium soy sauce and omit the additional salt.
02/12/2011
Very flavorful and easy to make. Simply thing I added was fresh lemon when I cooked the beef tips. We ate it all up-yum.
02/22/2008
My husband loves Beef Tips only he doesnt like my Beefiness Tips...I take been on the look out now for a really, really expert Beef Tip recipe. I found it! This recipe was wonderful. Husband loved it and and then did my son. Information technology was very tender and just YUMMY. One thing I would modify is the salt content. Adjacent time I am going to cutting that by half. Pretty good but I establish the soy sauce to be very overwhelming for the dish. I recollect I might supersede it with beef goop next fourth dimension. Information technology was very salty for me and my hubby and I even left out the table salt it called for.

This was a squeamish change from every day beef stew. I did make a couple of changes tho. I used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder, completely omitted the salt and instead of dry gravy mix I used one cup of water and a jar of quality brown gravy right from the offset. Kept covered for showtime hour and so removed lid for last half hour and it thickened nicely. Next time I will definitely add sliced fresh mushrooms for the last half 60 minutes.

I followed another raters advice and tried this one in the crock pot, and it came out absolutely wonderful! I omitted the salt, and added a niggling cornstarch to thicken it up ( I may have washed something wrong becasue information technology was a little runny at showtime) but information technology was gone the second it served it...the meat is soooo tender! I have never had stew meat i could cut with a fork! Yummy

My 5 year sometime otherwise known as Mr. Picky loved this, as did the residual of my family. I thought a 1/four loving cup of soy sauce might be too salty, but it was delicious. The broth is excellent. I put in the dull cooker and added the gravy last. I will brand my beef and and noodles this mode from now on. Thanks for sharing your recipe Denise!. janette

This is And so wonderful. Y'all really should not have to change anything to the recipe for a great meal but, I similar to mix some cold h2o with cornstarch and add till my desired thickness to make it a little thicker. I have the expletive of the picky eater family unit and even THEY loved it. I make this often. I have a wonderful buttered rice recipe that I make to go with it but sometimes serve it over egg noodles or mashed potatoes. Thanks a bunch!
