Cursor disappears only on drawing window

All of a sudden my cursor will become invisible. This happens only with AutoCAD. and if I switch between drawing windows it will appear on another drawing file. I have to close the drawing and open it again and then the cursor will be back only to disappear again. The cursor is visible if I move it back to the ribbon or bottom controls. It seems to happen only when it becomes the cross-hair cursor. I can still make selection windows and right click.

Mouse is working fine with all other programs and drivers are up-to-date

What gives?

I am getting the same behavior consistanly upon exiting the block editor. I'm getting tired of exiting the drawing and re opening it just because I exit the block editor...

This was also a problem in 2012. It appears to happen when you change from model space to paper space at exactly the same time that autosave kicks in.

Autodesk obviously don't think this is a problem that requires fixing.

Sometimes; if you click back into model space and regen all, the cross hairs will reappear, but not every time.

I never had a problem with this when I had MEP 2012 running on a machine with Windows XP.  I have a new machine running Windows 7 with MEP 2012 and have this problem all the time when switching from model space to paper space.

Searching everywhere, the only workaround I found is changing the visual style from 2d wireframe to something else, then back to 2d wireframe.

And yes.....I updated everthing.

Help Autodesk!

I just set the profile current - (Tools>Option - Profile Tab and click 'Set Current') - refreshes the current profile and bring that **** cursor back to life.

This sounds like the answer.  Im exited; thank you.  Tools, Options, Profile Tab, Set Current.  Im trying it right now.

Kid2Lt

Nope, this did not work.  This is not the solution.

Autodesk still don't think this problem is worth fixing then???????

idema

Oh this is so annoying.. Any fixes for this?? I have tried the above nothing.  i have to close the session & reopen like every 10 minutes.

synsterthompson

Yeah, I have had this problem also. I have had it since I finally upgraded from AutoCAD 2006 to AutoCAD LT 2013.

bdellos

I have this problem as well and I'm on 2013 with windows 7 and a Dell Precision T3600. Had this problem on other releases as well.

No solution??

alan.skipper

It happens when "autosave" kicks in exactly the same time as switching to "paperspace". Switch back into "modelspace" and regen, back it comes.

So why wasn't this fixed in service pack 1? Obviously not a serious enough problem for Autodesk, they'd rather concentrate on making the user interface prettier or inventing "functionality" that's never used.

Cheers

bdellos

Thanks for your reply, but that didn't fix the problem.

IF YOU HOVER OVER THE "2D WIREFRAME" (LOCATED AT THE TOP LEFT OF THE SCREEN) UNTIL IT TURNS YELLOW, YOUR CURSOR WILL COME BACK ON.

I had to put the icon on my toolbar first to try it.

S00BIG

This one does the trick for me.
